Avai are in the drop zone and can only haul themselves out of it tonight with all three points, although a point would be seen as having value. They have won just 1/10 starts, but rarely lose heavily and have scored in all 11 home games and conceded in nine of those. Their last four home starts include games versus three of the top four, Palmeiras (2-2) , Flamengo (1-2) and Corinthians (1-1) , so no reason not to feel they will at least be competitive this evening. 

 

Avai are decent enough overall at home, especially before the break, when they are 6-4-1 with a 8-3 goal difference, in the second half they are 3-3-5 with a 9-12 GD.

 

They did not concede a goal before half time to either of those big name teams , leading both Palmeiras and Corinthians 1-0, yet lost all three second halves.

 

In all games, home and away, they have conceded a Serie A high 24 goals after the break.

 

Internacional are 6th this morning, but would move 4th , 2 points off second spot, with the win. They are not a great road team and are slow starters in these away games, with a 0-8-3 FH record 2-5 goal difference, improving to 3-6-2 and a 8-7 GD after the break.

 

They will doubtless get chances tonight , Avai gave up between 1.82-2.11 xGA in those three starts versus top teams and in the second half, were a combined 

1-10 for BC's .

 

We can expect another game of two halves and for Avai to do their best work early.
