football betting tips -

Norway were very disappointing yesterday and so was the injury time equaliser which Denmark condeded, as that cost us a solid profit on the day, as it was we lost half a unit, no damage done, but frustrating.

I have sent subscribers previews of six matches today, four Football League games and one each from the MLS and Brazil. You can read excerpts from those below, but they are only meant as samples, please do not jump to conclusions about what we have backed, as there might well be counter arguments in the full match preview, which completely change the final analysis.

League 1:

I got to see extended highlights of Rotherham's win at Brentford last week and to be honest, I was disappointed in the Millers, who were very defensive, physical (not in a good way), one dimensional and looking to time waste at every opportunity, BUT, they were hard working, well organised and again physical, in a slightly better way and all that will get you a lot of points in this division. Brentford were poor, too many sideway passes and lacking in invention, teams are coming to shut up shop at Griffin Park and the Bees are struggling to break them down.

One Rotherham player who caught my eye was Kari Anason in central defence, he is a big old unit and looks more than his reported 1.90m, he is on international duty today and with two central defenders out already, that leaves them very short of options in the middle of the backline. They did beat Sheffield United in the one game that he missed this season, but currently injured centre back Claude Davis, was available that day. They have really struggled without the Icelandic international, he missed 13 matches last season when they went 4-2-7 and conceded 30 goals, this was a promoted team remember, who only conceded 29 times in the 33 matches he played, collecting 0.9 points a game more when he was in the starting eleven.

League 2:

Fleetwood Town rarely keep a cleansheet here and they have not managed one in nine League 2 starts going back to early March last season, in that sequence they have conceded 17 times, two or more on five occasions, including a 3-1 defeat to Chesterfield in their final home game of the last campaign. The Cod Army were extremely wasteful that day, had 12 attempts on target and perhaps 3-3 would have been a truer reflection.

The Spirites arrive without the influential Gary Roberts (9-4-4), who is serving the last of a three match ban, they are still without his fellow striker Marc Richards, who has scored eight in his last 14 starts.

Chesterfield's last five road league games in which they have conceded, have all gone "over" and averaged 4.2 goals and that is what I feel is most likely to happen this afternoon, I hope that when the dust settles that Town will be ahead, but feel the best bet is 1.25 units "over" 2.75 goals 2.11 asian line.

Oxford United rested several players in midweek, including Dave Kitson ( see preseason notes below) and will strip fresher today, they also get Andy Whing back from suspension, after he missed the last three starts, they are 7-3-1 in his the last 11 matches he has started and he gives the team a very solid base.

Brazil Serie A:

At home, Fluminense are 6-12 ( goals scored/conceded) before the break, a hugely improved 12-4 after, Gremio are 7-4 on the road through the opening 45 minutes, 7-8 afterwards. Flu are a massively impressive 8-4-1 at home in the second period (4-2-0 when level) which is on a par with Cruzeiro and the best in Brazil.

Gremio are not so short of options (see the midweek preview), but do miss suspended central defender Werley (20-1-0), defensive midfielder Cristian Riveros (14-3-2 ... started five of the last six) and striker Eduardo Vargas (12-4-1) who are both on international duty.

MLS:

FC Dallas were top of the Conference with 28 points through 14 matches, collecting just 13 from the 17 games played since. I am not so interested in team news at this stage of the campaign, but hosts are without strikers Eric Hassli (15-0-1) and Blas Perez (23-11-3 and they have not won since May without him scoring, he has four goals and two assists in the last four matches that FCD have taken points from), which are obviously important losses.

Joel Lindpere (Estonia) and Arevalo Rios (Uruguay) are on international duty for Fire.

Good Luck.
