Premier League preview; Manchester United - Manchester City
I struggled over the weekend and gave back a few units. Today, I previewed three matches, two taking place this evening, one of which I felt obliged to write a few lines about ( that is below), the other is for later in the week, a fixture where the odds available this morning are highly unlikely to last the day !
Premier League: Manchester United- Manchester City
The Premier League title is done and dusted, but with nothing else to play for this season, we can still expect Sir Alex and his troops to be "up" for this match and looking for revenge for that 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford last season, which Fergie still refuses to even discuss. However, they have looked increasingly goal shy in recent weeks, RVP has scored once in seven starts and missed a trio of chances at Stamford Bridge last week, he would have put away with ease two months ago, Danny Welbeck has one goal in 23 EPL outings, Wayne Rooney has missed the last two matches and only started five league games since mid December, Valencia, Young and Nani have one EPL goal between them all season !
Defensively they look much more solid this season, but as we discussed ahead of the visit to Chelsea, they remain vunerable to teams who are not scared of them and they have now conceded in 11 of 12 starts against top 7 teams. City will not be scared to attack them and will get more space to exploit than Chelsea had last week and David Silva will not have to drop quite as deep as Juan Mata did to have an impact, although in the reverse fixture he was prepared to do just that and so were Aguero and Balotelli, which at times forced the United backline far higher up the pitch than normal. The Reds won that 3-2 but it was decided by an individual error and the key for me, was kind of Sir Alex's stubborness, which nearly cost them the win, at 2-0 up they could have sat back and frustrated City, when the visitors had two banks of four they looked solid, but were too eager to attack and I feel maybe some revenge for last season's home thumping was the reason. I think this will be another open encounter and one earlyish goal either way could turn this into a mini classic. United still look vunerable to me, City will have Milner instead of Nasri who ultimately cost them the first meeting and I favour the visitors off level ball . 1 unit Manchester City level ball 2.36 asian line.
Good Luck
