Championship betting preview: Blackburn Rovers-Ipswich Town

Championship: Blackburn Rovers-Ipswich Town
No surprises here ( sorry!), having milked the "over" with Rovers at Millwall last weekend (2-2) and at home to Brighton in midweek (3-3), I am looking for the hat-trick and am perfectly satisfied with the quote, which is significantly above my own idea of the correct odds.Notes for both were in the Tuesday newsletter and are reproduced at the foot of the page.
Rovers are now 7 points adrift of the top six with 7 rounds to play and whilst they keep drawing, they have been going all out for the win and will do so again today. Town are just two points off the playoff pace , but the two teams immediately above them have very win-able games and they will certainly have to look for all three points and Rovers style of play at present ,is likely to ensure that happens anyway, they just can't stop themselves from getting involved in a shootout. They will go gung ho if falling behind and are not defensively strong enough to hold onto a lead. The reverse fixture produced four goals and this could/should follow suit. 1.5 units "over" 2.5 goals 2.14 asian line/Ibramarket.
You could hold off a little while if you wanted to look for a little better, Rovers have not scored a home goal inside the first 15 minutes all season.
Town have conceded 50% of all road goals in the final 30 minutes.
Good Luck.
Championship : Blackburn Rovers- Brighton (written April 1st)
We discussed Rovers weekend trip to Millwall, where we took the "over" ......
Millwall are coming off a costly 3-2 home defeat to Birmingham City in midweek, a win there would have dragged the Blues right into the heart of the equation, now they have a buffer over the drop zone and the Lions case is clear and they have to be all guns blazing for the three points today. Rovers were also involved in a high scoring match in midweek, sharing six goals with Watford at Vicarage Road, that is their second straight high scoring away game, after winning 4-2 at Huddersfield.
There is no point in their holding back here either, they are safe in midtable, but "only" eight points behind Reading who hold the final playoff spot, with a game in hand. They have home games up next against teams in 8th and 9th, so a mathematical chance still, but one which will effectively evaporate if they do not win this afternoon.
Lions boss Ian Holloway said after the midweek loss:"We've got eight games left and we've probably got to win five of them, then we might stay up."You probably think I'm crazy, but I don't. I think we can do it with the chances we are creating. "I'm devastated, I have to say that. It was a must-not-lose game and we've lost it. We've got to keep fighting."
Rovers are still talking about the post season and feel they have build up a lot of momentum over the last three games. A draw will not help either team overly much, both are happier on the front foot and their need will drive them forward.
It did end up a draw, but 2-2, with Rovers scoring twice with ten men on the pitch, the point was not quite as useless as it might have been, with five of the six clubs above them in the table dropping points. A win for Blackburn tonight would take them up to tenth and within five points of Reading who occupy the final playoff position and who are starting to look very suspect.
Brighton are not a favourite of mine, they simply do not score enough and actually come here without a goal in almost 300 minutes. However, they are now four points off the playoff pace and need to start gambling a little more. They have been creating chances and have actually been denied by the woodwork a Championship high 14 times, they brought in young striker Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United to try and adress these offensive woes, but he has yet to score in seven starts. He had six goals and three assists with Birmingham City on a previous loan deal earlier this season and the run must be proving very frustrating for both club and player.
They will get few better opportunities to break that duck than tonight, with Rovers having conceded in their last 7 starts, at an average of 2.14 goals per game. Both have to look for the win and I feel this will buck the recent Brighton trend and go "over" with both scoring in the process. 1.25 units "over" 2.5 goals 2.28 asian line/Ibramarket.
