Monday's Premier League game sample preview .......
Nov 02, 2021
Premier League: Wolverhampton Wanderers- Everton
I do feel we might get our entertainment fix from the Premier League game tonight and I will be a little surprised if we do not see both teams score at least once. Wolves last three starts have seen BTS in each, 10 goals total, we discussed the most recent of those, a 1-1 draw at Leeds United yesterday, within the Norwich-United notes, so no need to go over that again, suffice to say it was very much a second half rearguard action from the Midlands club. Prior to that they won 3-2 away to Aston Villa where my notes included .......
Only one point between these two and in favour of Villa, but Wolves are +2 for xP and have a big advantage in terms of a net +13 for BC and +25 ITB and the visitors have been unlucky in in 4-5 games , especially in narrow defeats to Spurs and Man Utd where they created enough chances in 180 minutes to have won 3-4 matches. They won two starts immediately before the break with two goals from Hee-Chan Hwang and a goal and two assists from Raul Jimenez, the two are building an understanding and the Mexican international looks like he is returning to his best form (30 goals and 14 assists total in 18/19 and 19/20). Villa have "won" only one game for BC's, Wolves have "lost" just one and I like the visitors off level ball at these quotes.
Afterwards I updated with .........
Things looked bleak when Villa were 2-0 up with just a quarter of the game remaining, but the visitors refused to give up and once they scored one, it was traffic only in one direction and the equaliser always felt like it was coming and after which, so did the late, late winner, which was celebrated wildly by both players and supporters alike. The team bus must have been jumping on the 30-40 minute drive back to Molineux and the players will have been able to bask in that feeling for seven days.
Everton have had a long 9 days to brood on an awful 5-2 home loss to Watford, who had themselves lost 5-0 at home to Liverpool in their previous start and 1-0 at home to Southampton subsequently, so it is hardly a strong form line. Ahead of the Toffees previous start, a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United, I touched upon how they were too often falling behind in games .........
The hosts have yet to entertain a strong side, that is not their fault and they have beaten Norwich, Burnley and Southampton, but trailed in the second half in two of those and face stronger opposition today and cannot afford to give up another lead ( after falling behind in 6/10 games), there are only so many time you can do that at this elite level.
That means Everton have now trailed in 8/12 starts, their games are averaging 3.01 goals and Wolves' are running at 2.81, despite scoring six fewer than they should have done. Five of the last six h2h meetings have produced 3+ goals and EPL games are currently running at 2.82 gpg, this is the 4th season running they have been at 2.82 + ( as high as 2.99) through 10 or 11 rounds and oddsmakers have not taken account of this now "normal" early season free scoring nature of games.
2 units "over" 2.5 goals 2.24 asian line.
Good luck !
