Everton v Swansea City: Premier League football betting preview
Swans to come unstuck yet again against Toffees
Did we really not win with our bet on Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium last Sunday ? Having got a nice price early in the game and fighting back from a goal down to take the lead with seven minutes or so remaining and with City unable to string two pases together or even come within sight of the halfway line for about 30 minutes, how did the Gunners let that one slip ?
Even more astounding was that just three days later, the Swans went to Stamford Bridge and won 2-0 in their Capital One Cup semi final first leg . Now, enough is enough, Swansea are used to having plenty of the ball, they barely touched it for half an hour against the Gunners and had just 36% of possession against Chelsea, giving up just shy of 40 attempts on goal to the two London giants. They must be running completely on empty after chasing the ball in those two and now have to face a third top side inside just six days.
The hosts had an easy run out at Cheltenham Town on Monday night, where they scored five and the match was effectively over when they went two up in a little over 20 minutes. Leighton Baines is a doubt, but I have heard that about four times already this season and he has always played. With Chelsea and Tottenham both facing tricky away fixtures, a win for the Toffees could take then back up into fourth spot and that is a massive incentive. Less robust than Baines, but very talented winger Kevin Mirallas might be fit to return, he has struggled with a hamstring problem all season, but in the 11 PL matches he has played, Everton have averaged 2.33 goals, which is over a goal per game more than they have managed without him.
His participation would be a bonus after missing the last six games, but regardless of that, I strongly favour the hosts who won the reverse fixture 3-0 and also did the double over Swansea last season and have never lost a competitive fixture to the South Wales club, with the visitors matching up poorly in the physical department. 1.5 units Everton -1 ball asian line/ Ibramarket.
Good Luck.
